    HP printer error in event log

    When I start up my Windows 7 32 bit Home edition I receive an error in the event log.
    I had a 840c printer on my system. I replaced this with psc750 and uninstalled the 840c. However when I boot my Windows 7 machine the event log show the following error:-
    System>

    </NoDriverFoundForPrinter>
    </UserData>
    </Event>

    I've been on HP site and there is no avenue to report this if one does not have a warranty.
    How can I resolve this please?

    Are you sure you don't have that printer listed in "Devices and printers"?

    Not listed - dissappeared when uninstalled. I suspect there is some remaining entry in the Registry but a search for 840c in the Registry finds nothing. I am hoping someone who understands the ways of the registry and Windows printer spooling mechanisms will be able to throw some light on it. It's infuriating that the HP site has no option to communicate for help if their is no warranty in force. They have an option to email the CEO but guess what.... it isn't working!
