    That one will work no problem, but depending on which bios version (at least version 0604) you have may take a bios update for it to be detected properly.

    The performance would be much better, no doubt, but it would suck to take a loss on the other. If you have a camera, could you maybe take a close up, hires picture of the back of that Cpu so we could see exactly how bad it is?

    Also, the Phenom II's are far, far superior overclockers than the original Phenom's. (The 4 digit Phenom's ie 9850, suck, the triple digit Phenom II's, ie 955, are great) Even the original Phenom Black Edition Cpu's (What you have) were barely overclockable, practically useless black edition Cpu's honestly, and I'm an AMD fan.

    Well it survived!!! My neighbor and I used magnifying glass and twizzers to straighten 12 pins in 4 different rows. Took a while. We kept testing on the socket until finally it fit. I have now purchased another heatsink and fan that have cooled it down to 30 C at idle.

    So now it starts once again!! Thanks to everyone who provided assistance.
