    PSU choice-Opinions wanted

    Hi folks:)

As I have posted elsewhere, after just 14 months my Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 850 watt PSU gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago.
It was out of it's 12 month warranty from CCLonline: CCL Computers - Awarded PCPro Best Online Retailer 3 years running for PC, PC Components, Laptops, Notebook, Computer Components, Intel Servers, Hard Drives, PC Memory
I didn't have an invoice or the original packaging but they agreed to RMA it for me to Be Quiet! in Germany. Amazing eh?
Be Quiet! are unable to repair it so they have sent CCL a credit note.
Interestingly CCL no longer stock Be Quiet! products, but they have immediately offered me a cash refund or a choice of these three PSUs:

Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850 Power Supply Unit (850 Watts)

850W Antec Signature Modular Power Supply

Home > Products > Power Supplies & UPS > Performance PSUs > 800W and Over 1000W Corsair HX1000W Modular Power Supply

So. Which should I choose? My specs are there and will remain the same for a while. I may upgrade my GPU at the end of this year but will probably keep my current mobo and chip for another couple of years.

I would really value any input on this. I'm gonna start reading reviews now but I need to make a quick decision.

    Thanks in advance, John

PS Damn fine company CCL I reckon. A lot of companies would have left me making long distance calls to Germany.

Simply because you might upgrade the GPU and might even decide to upgrade more I'd get the Corsair HX1000W Modular and be future ready.

Corsair HX1000W is a bit old war ... about three years of market ... I would opt for AX850 Professional Series

I would go with the Corsair AX850. It is a higher quality PSU with a 90% Gold efficiency rating and 7 Year warranty.

Yeah. I'm thinking along the same lines. Reviews for the 1000 watt Corsair are all from 2008. The Antec also looks good but I think the 850m Corsair is the one.

Thanks to all for your input:)

Yes John, the 850W looks the best, pity the 1000W is so old.

Get the Antec Signature edition, one of the best quality ones.

Thanks to everyone for input. It was a toss up between the Corsair and the Antec. The Corsair has a 80+ Gold rating so I've decided to go with that one.:)

    Thanks again, John

Looks like it's solved, but I recommend you read this before.

Thanks Markus. That does get a very good review but I've already accepted the Corsair. Hmmn.
Oh well. The Corsair gets excellent reviews as well so I think it'll be ok.
    Thanks for your interest, John:)
