    Keyboard Keys Mixed up

All of a sudden the built in keyboard for my HP laptop has started doing strange things.

some of the keys have become mixed up.

Space bar - creates full stops
    backspace - has become F11
UP arrow - is now the letter 'o'
Down error - is now the number '9'
Enter - is now the letter 'L'
letter 'L' - is now the enter button
Num lock - has become F10

I've checked all the regional settings and stuff, re installed all the drivers and even manually trying to re map the keys with no luck.

I've booted a Windows 7 virtual machine and had the same problem. Also has the same problem running Linux on a live disk. Plugging in an external USB keyboard works no problem and so does the on-screen keyboard.

So I'm pretty sure its a faulty keyboard but I thought I would ask in case I missed anything before I sent it back for repairs.

    Any advice would be useful

    Thanks!

Going by what you've already done I agree with the faulty keyboard, is it still under warranty ?
