Not sure what you mean by "beat them". At what??

Try pugetsystems.com

They make both gaming PCs and VERY VERY quiet PCs.

Why not compare it to building it yourself with the same parts? When you spread out all the parts, it takes less than an hour to full assemble the PC. That might mean money saved, or more of your budget to devote to parts.

Should have said quality build & price its UK only. Its looking like pcspecialist up to now.self build is an option and I have looked into it, saving about 100.I thought I might treat my self and have one built.

yes, i saw that. Very possible that it would still be cheaper than having one built locally, espcially with the current currency coversion. 100 bucks here is only 62 there. The shipping would be included in the pricing.

edit to add:

That's a 40% discount right off the top.

Just buy your parts. Take anti-static precautions and put it together yourself. It's not rocket science.

Remember to check Amazon UK for component prices as free delivery makes them very competative.

windows 7 was made to discourage home builders?
windows 7 was made to discourage home builders? I have built 6 or 7 computers in my life and the last was a 64 bit Phenom with 8 GB RAM and 4 SATA drives - and ran fine. I upgrade to Win 7 and I have spent a month rebuilding this, reformatting, replacing almost every major part of hardware,...
