    help here~ mine usb kingston cant format


    mine kingston cant format
    when i plug in mine usb windows say need to format
    after i click on format then it show "windows unable to format"
    is mine usb pen drive is dead??

    Hello Game01,

    Does your USB key have any sort of built-in write protection feature?

    If not, then you might see if you may be able to do a "clean all" command on the USB to wipe it clean. Just double check and make sure that you use the command with the correct disk number for the USB so as not to wipe the wrong drive. Afterwards the USB should all be "unallocated space" that you would just format.

    You might try a plugging it into different USB ports to see if there may be something wrong with that one. Also try plugging the USB key into another computer to see if you may be able to format it on that computer.

    If not, and it doesn't have any sort of built-in write protection feature, then it may be dead.
