    Rest of RAM not shown?


    Hi people, Well I had some RAM and it shown ONLY 2GB OF RAM. So went out and BOUGHT new RAM 4GB put it in then all i saw was 2GB! After doin' a bit of research I knew that the old RAM had 4GB (I got my computer tweaked so I didnt know) Is there a way to make this show or anything?

    Did you alter the configuration in MSCONFIG > Boot > Advance?
    If so, uncheck "Number of processors" and "Maximum Memory" those checkboxes should be unchecked.

    Yes they are unchecked. And the comp. is still not reconizing it.

    Is it one 4 gig module? If so does your motherboard support 4 gig modules per slot? Does it show up correctly in the BIOS?

    Also try one stick at a time in your main slot. RAM does come bad sometimes. If they all show up by themselves try switching the order you previously had them in. I have heard of this causing this issue before. What kind of RAM is it?

    it might be beacuse your running 32 bit

    If he's running 32bit it will be shown more that 2GB ram memory.

    Yes it is a 32 bit and I'll try the BIOS thanks! and my motherboard has 2 slots for RAM modules.
