i have a sony vaio Y series notebook. AMD DUAL CORE E-350 processor. it uses AMD radeon graphics. 2GB RAM. it was re formatted earlier. before re format, the resolution was 1366 x 768 . but now the maximum resolution i could set is only up tp 1024 x 768. what happened? can i still get have my resolution before? in the device manager, it displayed the generic PnP monitor on standard VGA graphics adapter. please help? please? i actually tried to "upgrade it", but i dont have that option in my control panel, but i have "add device" so i clicked it, but the BSOD appeared. and my notebook re booted. it happened just now. pleeeease help me.
1) a.can i still get my resolution back?
b.how?
2) a.why did it displayed BSOD? is it because i cliked on the add device?

I have downloaded the driver but it showed error when I tried to install it. Error is something like is it not a valid Win32 application. What do I do next?

So you are in India.
I tried to find the right/correct drive and link it to you but the India/Asia Pacific website is a mess, IMHO, with no catagories. Just a long list of drivers, .EXE files, with no reference to what they go to.

Could be that file you downloaded got corrupted during the download. This can happen if you have any download accelerators enabled in you web browser.
So try downloading it again.

In any event that is what you need to do. Install the video card drivers. Without them all you get is generic, low resolution, display.
