Just curious if anyone here has experience with modded bios and editing them in general. I have a hp nettle 2 and there's not really any good stuff to make it unlocked. Just a thought.

    Thanks-

I am kind of wondering myself but it seems extremely risky...flashing the CMOS(?) with a new BIOS seems to be not only risky but downright dangerous...the kind of thing where anything could go wrong

Exactly, the last thing you want is your useful computer, into a very expensive paperweight, with a bricked BIOS. its a very risky job, i don't advise fiddling with this part of the computer.

PM me and i send the right place...
thanks for the offer LFB but like drinking a nice cold one every now and then....you have to know where to put your foot down. I love to try lots of things on the computer and I am afraid that if I dived into you *info* about changing a computer BIOS....I would have a nice non-blinking box looking beside me....

Didn't say I was gonna mess with it, just wanted to know what was out there. And I think the mods will give us a break here and there.

Your right but what I meant was if we actually disclosed a method (in detail) to do it...but general talk about it is fine of course

    This thread piqued my curiosity.

I can't figure out why the mods would frown on sharing BIOS tweaks. Most banned activities, like sharing torrent info, I can understand the reasoning... but this one baffles me.

Could someone enlighten me? What am I missing?

I don't want to accidentally cross any lines... but I can't figure out where this line is drawn.

    Thanks
