Nothing I do with the drives in the enclosures is vital and everything can be repeated. Fortunately I have not seen a power failure in years - I bought this battery backup for nothing. LOL. But at least I am prepared like a good soldier - or Gomer Pyle.

My conclusion is that it is the speed of the disk that rules the transfer speed. It would be interesting to test an SSD in both enclosures - but unfortunately I have no loose SSD lying around.
My drive is a momentus 7200.4 hdd which is 7200rpm but my speeds are so slow - how come a 5400rpm is faster than my 7200rpm in usb3? i have an ssd in my laptop so i might take it out n try it in my usb3 enclosure to see what speeds it gives
