I will do so in a bit. In case I did not mention it before it is only the autoplay that does not work. Manually I am able to use winamp. Last night I had transferred stuff off of some dvds / cds to my external drive and the autoplay did not work ever. This morning I put in a dvd and up popped the what do you want to do with this cd / dvd prompt. That was new??
Sounds like the autoplay may have righted itself !

running Win7 and discs not being recognized drive

I followed the directions on the link provided and did not see how to access the autorun enable /disable. I looked under default programs: Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\AutoPlay and found the option to use autoplay for all media and devices at the very top of the page. I have noticed that after this and uninstalling / reinstalling Winamp that while Winamp now opens automatically it does not play the cd I tried (a store bought Garth Brooks), so I am still working on it, I guess. It could be that it doesn't like Garth's music????

    lol
Try right clicking on your CD drive click on open, right click on one of the tracks, click on open with, and choose default program Then select Winamp from the list and Okay.
If Winamp is not in the list click browse and navigate to the Winamp folder on C: click on Winamp, Open and Okay. finished

    YouTube - ‪Memorial Day Tribute copy‬‏

This is a video that a guy, I went to high school, did on his father. As it turned out the guy found out his father and my adoptive father (were in same unit in WWII -my adoptive father also served in Korea and Vietnam), I downloaded the video from YouTube after some problems getting downloads from FB to play on my Winamp. The first attempted download was in mpg format (all formats have been associated with Winamp) and the one I downloaded from YouTube was in flv format. ?Second format is the only one that worked?
Update on attempting Garth again - autoplay - Winamp automatically opens but reverts or stays on last media file run. I tried to manually to run the Garth again and .....same result, it sticks with last file run. I will try another store bought one and see what that does. In short my comment on this is help ????????????

You could highlight all the songs and then with a right click select enqueue in winamp

Or try right clicking your drive with the CD in and selecting Open Auto Play and then selecting Winamp

If you want to play many formats of Video try using VideoLAN - Official download of VLC media player for Windows

    Pooch:
1st option: You could highlight all the songs and then with a right click select enqueue in winamp
tried it and option to en queue was not offered
2nd option: Or try right clicking your drive with the CD in and selecting Open Auto Play and then selecting Winamp
It opens Winamp and then is still hanging up on the last media played

Very strange I'm stuck for an answer
You could maybe try it like this. I have ripped all my music into a folder that I named music all nicely ordered in folders from A-Z for the artists and then I pointed Winamp to the folder music. Not really the answer you are looking for but it works and it saves changing CD's
