    Best gamepad for windows?

I had a Logitech controller for the longest time but I guess the 1000 times I dropped it caught up with it because its broken. I want one that's slightly like a PlayStation controller because I'm used to that. So that's why I thought of just of getting a Logitech dual pad controller again but a newer version. But anybody have any suggestions?

I used a Wired Xbox 360 Controller. Plug n' play, it only took me about 3 mins. Works great with several Video game emulators that i use

The Games For Windows initiative was meant to use the Xbox 360 wired controller as the default, most compatible controller. It requires no software, and many games are already configured to use it.

I thought of a xbox controller as well. It just seemed a little weird getting a a xbox controller for my laptop.

Why would it seem weird? Microsoft OS, Microsoft controller.

There are hacks and workaround for getting a PS3 controller to work but an Xbox 360 controller is just so much easier...Granted I just recently got myself a wired Xbox 360 controller for my PC <.< so maybe I'm biased? >.>

I agree with logiceart (not the biased part). An Xbox 360 controller is much more easier to install as it will automatically get the drivers from Windows Update in a matter of minutes, if not seconds. I myself wanted a PS3 controller since I plan to buy a PS3 in the future anyway. However, there is too much hassle to get it to work (more especially on a 64-bit OS) that the cost outweighs the benefits.

I usually like to meddle with things and with ease. Getting a PS3 controller to work was not one of them.
