    it is false about 32 bit system having a limit of 4 GB.

    if you go to this website, and look at x86 of windows server 2008 datacenter, it can support up to 64 GB

    x86 is 32 bit computer


    so, if you want to use more than 4GB memory, and dont really care about money (you want software compatibility)
    go for windows server 2008 datacenter or one of those high memory limit

    They of course qualify it: "Limits greater than 4 GB for 32-bit Windows assume that PAE is enabled."

    PAE is not available on consumer Windows installs. Therefore, the 4GB limitation holds for consumer versions of Windows. Saying you should get a data center Windows Server license is just ridiculous when you can just install 64-bit instead.
