    HDD Drive letter conflict

    Hi guys,
I have just built a new computer with a new hdd which is assigned with drive letter C.
I want to use the hdd from my old PC as well but the issues is, when I connect my old hdd I cannot see it in My Computer. Disk management and Device Manager can see the drive, but there is no letter attached to it, it just shows Disk 1:. I believe the issue is with my old hdd also being assigned to letter C in my old computer. I cannot change the drive letter in Disk Management as this option is grayed out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

No that is not the problem. Drive letter do not carry over from a different PC. You have to initialize the drive. It needs a disk signature for the PC it is in.
