DVD Drive not Detected
I used the drive to install Windows recently, but the drive does not show up in Windows. In the BIOS is does show. The drive is a ND-3551A with an IDE connection. I have tried slave mode and cable connect, but none of the settings works. Is my drive not compatible with Windows 7 or what might be the problem?
In Disk Management my DVD drive reads "Disk 0, Unknown, Not Initialized". When trying to initialize the drive I get the message "The quest could not be performed because of in I/O device error" no matter if I choose MBR or GPT. Setting the jumper to Cable Select or Slave doesn't change anything.
To test whether Disk 0 is really my DVD drive I have tested with different CDs and DVDs in it. The size of the drive changes according to the size of the CD or DVD - so Disk 0 is my DVD drive.
Do you have any ideas how I can make the drive visible? Thanks.
