Computer wont boot O_O

Ok it all started when I was watching a dvd, but went for dinner and usually my computer goes to sleep but when I came back up it was off, turned it back on and it said cmos battery is low and it turned off and wouldnt start up at all, I put a new battery in and it starts but all I get is a blank screen and a yellow light on the power button but everything is running in it, and I found out that if I want to turn my computer back on again I have to take the cmos battery out which is brand new unplug everything then plug it back in then start it up and I get a yellow it disappears then goes to blue and I get the cmos battery is low error again I press f1 and carry on with whatever im doing. The strange this is, is that it works fine after i've done all that and I dont really want to take the side off and unplug everything and plug it back in EVERY DAY. pls help. im out of ideas

Gone into the bios and set it to failsafe defaults? Shouldn't make any difference, but double the date and time while in there as it will have likely also reset with the battery change.

well I tryed that but no lucky I went into the bios and did everything with the date and time to try and make it do something but when I finish my computer would just go blank screen and I would have to do the plug thing, problem is, is that I tryed to get onto bios again but I would only get a ton of H's going across the left side of the screen and it took me about 20 minutes to get this peice of im never buying from dell again overly priced hunk of junk working again...sigh

Strange problem (but you knew that already-)-

I have no real clue whay is going on but suggest putting new battery back in--set date and select cmos defaults- (like stormy13 said but with hardware ideas below) when the batt went maybe it changed something?

Only have monitor and ps2 keyboard attached to it- a different keyboard than the one that had all the HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh's

I mean try this with no lan cable- no extra's in pci slots- no cardreader- no disc in cd/dvd drives- no printer- etc.

just a ps2 keyboard (if you have one- usb if not) and the monitor- not even a mouse- cmos doesnt need it and in windows you can plug it in later-

If it works a couple times, then change keyboard back to original-try again, then start plugging stuff back in till you narrow it down-

would also un plug and re-plug power connectors to motherboard in case there is a bad connection there-

If this doesnt work then I am out of ideas other than to call dell and see if they have a fix for this, maybe it is a known problem for them? good luck to you.

P.S. I have always loved my dell laptops

if everything else fails if you have a disk with the Windows on it then you could try to reinstall. Make sure that your HD is connected to the mother board properly. The Model would also be helpful in diagnosing the problem :)

Can any one tell me how to reboot with help of DVD, as my laptop is not boot and shows BOOTMGR is missing

P.S. I have the worst luck, I must have got the bad one out of like 10000

Ok I did that all the way down to only the cpu and the power supply is left and still nothing... i think its either the cpu is dead, the motherboard is dead or the power supply is dead, but im going to send it off to either dell or someone else
