windows 7 caused a problem to my "phone memory"

    Hey all,
i don't know how to start with writing this thread
well ,, at 1st I'm Egyptian girl and my English is too weak

    My problem
    1- i installed windows 7 recently
2- i bought a reader to use for my "phone memory"
when i plug in my new reader ,, it couldn't open
and an "access denied error" appeared every time i tried to do that
i took my memory but when i put it in my phone
i found something wrong with it ,, files names became strange
with strange letters and shapes and no folder has opened again
well,,i tried again to plug in my reader
but when i opened my memory a " folder is empty " message appeared
although it said that there's 1.2 GB as it was

but now it never open on my phone neither my computer

    sorry for my terrible English

hope you help me cause my phone memory had too many memories

Sounds like your problem is not with Windows 7 but the program you installed to read your cell phone memory. If you told us the name of the program, version etc might help.
You might check and see if the program is compatible with WIN7.

    Please let us know more?

Try to check if the media card works on any other system, and if every file has a different name then try to check as could be a virus as well which could have caused it. If you can then try to re-format the media card and try but beware that you would lose everything on it.

I'll ask the question that everyone has seemed to miss... What type of Phone is it, and more importantly, what ROM/OS is installed on the phone? Android? Windows Phone 7? Symbian?

The reason that those questions are so important is simply because with the newer Phone OS's, some Phones, as well as the Carriers, store vital information on external memory cards.

    ----

:: To prevent system problems ::

Android, for example, stores several system components & application components on installed external memory cards.

    ----

    :: To prevent side-loading apps/piracy ::

Windows Phone 7 LOCKS DOWN, literally, the MicroSD cards inserted into their Windows Phone handsets.. thus making the MicroSD cards 100% useless for anything other than the phone. (As of right now, you can't even FORMAT the MicroSD card to use it with another device after it's been used with Windows Phone 7.)
