Recommend me new Motherboard, CPU, and RAM

Hey everyone. My PC is not working anymore and I need some help.

It turns on for five seconds, turns off for five seconds, then reboots but the screen displays nothing. I have checked the video card on a different PC, checked the HDDs, and the power supply - those are all working fine.

I have assumed that the motherboard or CPU have died and need replacing (is there a way to find out for sure?).

My main point for this thread: Could anyone please recommend me a really kickass motherboard, CPU, and RAM? I am also hoping to have one dedicated HDD for Mac OSX (please don't judge), so a processor/motherboard that will be compatible with Windows and Mac would be excellent (is this even possible?)

I am hoping to have one HDD dedicated Mac OSX so I can use Final Cut Pro and avoid spending $2000+ on a Mac Pro.

    I was recommended this processor: Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

    Any thoughts or recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

That proc is definitely a good one.

I use AMD x6 myself, and I love it--it's ridiculously fast and slick. I'm a fan of Gigabyte or Asus motherboards. I don't know what to recommend as far as Intel boards, but for AMD, a Gigabyte FXA-UD5 is hard to beat. It's what I use

You should look on Newegg and check out boards and procs by spec, then compare by highest rated. It's amazing what a thousand reviews versus maybe ten can say about a board :)

For example, just snuffling around Newegg, I came across this Intel Gigabyte board: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD3-B3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

So would either of these work with a Mac system?

I plan on having one drive for Windows, one for Mac.

The motherboard looks sweet! I'm probably going to go with it.
But yeah, I'm just concerned an AMD processor would not work with my Mac drive/Final Cut Pro.

    Thanks by the way!

    I'm building this multimedia rig.

    ASUS H67 board - Newegg.com - ASUS P8H67-M EVO (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel H67 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Same Sandy Bridge CPU that was recommended to you.

    RAM - Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL

I'm going with the H board so I can overclock the iGPU. If I needed more horsepower out of the CPU I would've gone with the P67 board instead. The Intel HD Graphics 3000 on the CPU are good enough that I don't need to add a video card. I like the ASUS board because it has a program called Turbo EVO which easily OC's the iGPU.
