    Active Window just disappears

    Hi All. Newbie here.

I'm running Windows 7 Professional/64 bit on a Dell Latitude E series. I'm also using a Windows Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500.

Everyday, several times during the day, when I release my mouse to use the keyboard, the active window just disappears leaving only my desktop visible. It will reappear as soon as I move the mouse again. Most times, the active window will then remain on the screen but sometimes, when I let go of the mouse to begin typing again, it will disappear again.

Now this is nothing serious and I don't lose any data. Nor is it a case of not being able to bring the active window back up. However, it is very annoying and if there is a way to correct it, I'd love to do so.

    Any ideas are appreciated.

    Thanks!!!

You do know that at the far right bottom of the taskbar is a box that allows you to "peek" at the desktop...if you park over that spot all Windows disappear.....

No Ivan, I didn't know that. I'm betting that is what's happening.

I thought it had to be something simple (although not as embarrassingly so).

Many thanks for answering my post!

Welcome Tony, that's called Aero Peek. I have sometimes bumped my mouse which moves the mouse to that area too. If you click the box it will show the desktop, minimizing all windows too.

Thank you I was having the same problem with the disappearing windows and it would go to my desktop everytime i let go of mouse for few seconds, so i did look at the task bar and unchecked the peek desk top. Thanks it was really beginning to annoy me but since your answer it really helped my windows to remain on screen without peeking at my desktop . Thanks alot for this forum.
