I've actually searched and I don't think having 8gb isn't much different from 6gb? Is there any BIG difference?

Also, I went to a computer store in my city and they can get me a Transcend 4gb DDR3 RAM 1333Mhz for 40€ ($58.4). I think I'll get it if I decide to go forward with this.

Why do you say it needs to be the same DIMM?

If you mix Dimms of different makes and/or different specs you always run the risk to have negative effects.

RAM doesn't work as well or can have issues with different manufacturers mixed together, and especially different timings and speeds (usually differs between companies)

It's like mixing old batteries with new, you just don't do it or problems will arise.

Well, the store owner said different manufacturers wouldn't harm the laptop

Just so long as they are the same timing, etc. I would look the two up before pulling the trigger. Even then you may have problems.

The store wants to sell you an item.
All RAM sticks should be identical for the best performance. Buying another Samsung stick like your present one, it would likely be some difference since it would be newer. If you want to upgrade, but a matched pair of 2 4GB sticks. It probably won't make much difference to your system though. Win 7 like to use as much RAM as you throw at it.

When they say timings, there are more numbers than just "1333Mhz."

It MUST BE:
204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM
DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)
Cas Latency = 9
Voltage = 1.5V
Buffered/Registered = Unbuffered

Save a headache & get the Samsung, like everyone is warning!
