I am done.............I am done after this.
Whether you are done now or done after this, I'd give it a rest until tomorrow when you are not so frustrated. I don't know about you, but my decision-making isn't too good when I'm aggravated.
The next frustration could be in 10 minutes or 10 weeks, but it's sure to happen.
If you are truly done, send it back now and buy something pre-assembled or do without entirely. Life's too short to let something as pointless as a PC get you down.

Are the cables you're using new or have they been used in another machine/setup?

I do....but....there's no Nvidia hardware in his system.
Sorry: no nvidia driver needed - i took a glance at the system specs and saw the 9800 and assumed that was your new machine thats why the nvidia link was was included in the reply - sorry my mistake - on top of that my father is in hospital with a serious illiness and im under stress and were in a hurry.

I am sorry for my frustration. I let it get the best of me last night. I am not done but going to have a friend look at it.
Are the cables you're using new or have they been used in another machine/setup?
The only cables I am using from the previous build are: Keyboard and a usb cable to a hub. The video cable is not new and neither is the network cable. But the BIOS has a utility that can check the connectivity of the cable and it sees a connection and sees that a cable is connected and how long it is. So I am not sure why the LAN icon in the corner shows a red X over it.

1. Maybe he knows some trick about getting the Nvidia driver to work with the Intel?
2. I wish I had a PCIe Nvidia card.

This is the usual method of installing drivers with an intel board - latest chipset drivers first, graphics driver and then audio and then the other drivers, usually, with all my w7 installs you can have the pc connected up to the internet - i think the best way however is to install as much as possible eg download wsp1 prior to installing - i have 2 laptops and 1 pc in the house so thats no problem for me, then continue installing before you need to connect for updates - then install a antivirus program - my pc is wired to the router modem, and then to an wireless acess point, so you can hotplug it or shut down, and then connect to avoid any possible conflict. It also states in the manual you need to have the monitor turned on - a must before you boot a new pc - hope you did that?
From binging : The red x doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem with the hardware device. The red x simply means that Windows is not allowing the hardware to be used and that it has not assigned any system resources to be used by the hardware.
To remove the red x from a particular piece of hardware, you'll need to enable the device in Device Manager. It's usually that simple. Just right click it and select enable if it isnt greyed out and then install the driver or let windows update intsall it then update to the latest driver if necessary.
If there are further issues with the hardware, the red x will probably be replaced with a yellow exclamation point which you can troubleshoot separately.

Fixed the network card. The switch I had it plugged into became unplugged.
But now, the issue is that when I boot the computer with a DVI cable plugged in, the display goes into sleep mode just as Windows finishes loading. When I have a VGA Cable plugged in, the monitor could be on for 2 seconds or 30 minutes and then will go black but the monitor power light will be on. So I think its the VGA port on the monitor because it happened my old computer too. But why can I not use a DVI cable?

All i can suggest is to go to the manfacturers site of the monitor - support page - downloads page and see if you can find a updated driver or an alternative driver to the driver installed for the monitor - a fair bit hopefull but nothing to loose. If there are no w7 drivers you can do this to get a dirver to install if it wont install normally -
To install a driver/program in compatibility mode - right click the setup.exe file - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista/xp etc (the os its written for) - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start setup.exe and install.
