    Problem with mouse

    Hello all,

I use windows 7 32 and I have this wierd, annyoing problem. When I play Counter-Strike my mouse sensitivity goes insane at random moments for few milisec.

I have installed this MarkC Windows7_MouseFix_TextSize(DPI)=100%_@6-of-11. It's not about mouse acceleration cause it's disabled from control panel, mouse driver, and even from mousefix.

The problem is not my mouse, because untill yesterday I used Razer Deathadder 3500 and now i'm using QPAD 5K. So one has optic senzor(razer) and qpad has laser senzor.

This problem happens only in counter-strike (my most played game) and only on windows7. On win XP never ever had such problems!

So I'm thinking windows must be the problem otherwise I simply can not see what might cause that ...

I really hope someone knows the answer for this problem, because i wasted lot of money buying different mice trying to avoid having this problem

    ps: excuse my English ..

    Thanks in advance,
      My Computer

I'm not familiar with the software you like, but my question is: are you running the Win 7 version there of? Is it listed in the compatiblity site?

Windows 7 Compatibility: Software Programs & Hardware Devices: Find Updates, Drivers, & Downloads

Now that being said: What happens if you, for the duration of the game, disable your anti-virus software?

If you reffer if the game appears in the compatibility list, yes, is there, this one is :
    Counter-Strike 1 Anthology
antivirus eset nod 32 4.0 is listed there also

I will test without anti-virus, at this moment i use nod 32

You think that the AV might cause this? I used same AV on XP

I made Windows 7 upgrade advisor and found everything compatible with win7

Ok, after 30+ mins testing with anti virus turned off but with WINAMP ON I have this conclusion:
Now sensitivity not only goes insane switching from 2 to about 20, but it goes even lower, like from 2 to 1 ... I simply can't understand what can cause this

and this only happens in counter-strike. on desktop, warcraf3, lineage, any other game never happened.

I went on counter-strike icon, clicked properties and comaptibility.

I've chosen windows 7 for "run this program in compatiblity mode for" (was on xp)
and below i have settings and got this fields which i can mark
    blabla
    blabla
    Disable visual themes
    Disable desktop composition
Disable display scaling on high DPI settings

I'm not really sure what they do (especially last one). If i check those what can happen? :s

I'm abit ashamed but ... i have to ask you since i don't know such things

    many thanks,

Your game that gives you problems--did you buy the Win 7 version thereof?

    Complete your system specs.
    UPDATE YOUR SEVENFORUMS SYSTEM SPECS

User CP (3rd item in the top menu bar) |

in left-hand column, under Your Profile, Edit System Spec |

using SIW and Speccy to gather info, fill in the blanks.
Do me a favor and add the word laptop or desktop to the “system manufacturer” block.
Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader, Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor

Scroll down and click on the SAVE CHANGES button.

OK. One of the gamers will need to jump in here and help you then because I never try run a program in compatibility mode. Too many problems despite what MS tells you.

could be that the supplier of the game can give you info on running an xp version under Win 7.

Especiallly if I remember correct, you've got 64 bit os and the program was written for a 32 bit os.
