    What's wrong with my HDD

Right so Ive been trying everything to get my comp to boot at this point I'm halted by the lack ofa C drive. When I run Disk Part, my computer lists whatever is In slot c as removable aswell as a size of 0.

I've ran start up repair multiple times always with the same result "The partition table does not have a valid System Partition".

I cannot use System restore or image recovery.

I cannot do a clean install or upgrade.

When I try and run a dskchk on c: I get cannot open volume for direct access, same if I try and format c:

I doubt both my HDD and DVD pooped out on me the same day so how do I fix this.

    Hi,

Are your drives shown in your BIOS?

From your other thread I take it this is an Acer Desktop computer ?

    AX1301
    AMD Athlon 11 X2
    3 GB DDR2
    640 GB HDD
    OD DVD Super Multi
    VGA 9200 Intergrated VDIIA GeForce
    W& Home Premium 64 Bit

It sounds like your HD may have got wiped of the OS, so the recovery Disc can't recover/repair. You will need a win7 installation Disc.

I don't have a disc but I have the files a on a USB but like I said it won't allow me to upgrade or do a clean install.

I get no drives were found click load driver to provide a mass storage device for installation.

Do you have a blank CD that you could make a Bootable Partition Wizard Disc ? That way you could boot to it so we can see what info it may find out about your HD. Whether there are any files still there, wiped, or whatever ?

Partition Wizard : Use the Bootable CD

I guess my next question is " What computer are you using to make these posts here ? "

You best bet is a computer with a CD or CD/DVD burner & a blank CD.

I think if you make the PW Disc you will find your CD/DVD drive is probably ok.

I have to call it a day, for now I will check on your progress tomorrow.
