    I Am Having USB Issues

Some USB readers will work and others not.

I have just installed Win7 X64 Pro fresh and clean. I have updated it.

I have a screen shot that shows my device manager portable device status. I included a window of a working device that is firewire connected labeled J: with a splat but works.

What do I check to fix it?

    Thanks

I would remove all the usb devices but keyboard and mouse, and go to gigabyte and install the latest drivers they provide for your board.
Install, restart, try again and see if you get the same results.

I also suggest going into control panel power options
    change plan settings
    change advanced plan settings
expand usb, and make sure usb selective suspend is disabled.

    I believe I found it.
I had just created a new RAID1 array and installed Win7 x64 Pro and several programs in the preceding hours.

Apparently the volumes were still initializing and giving explorer hell whilst I kept doing all kinds of work.

I noticed the "Initializing" durring a boot screen and said "Ah Ha"! I was then reminded I had not installed Intel Matrix Storage Manager yet. So I loaded it and waited until the initialization was complete.

To test I started several large video edits using Sony Vegas 10.0 Pro, as well as Photoshop CS5 batches. Any one of these operating on a smaller scale was bringing on the "Explorer Has Stopped Working". I have been hammering away with no probs.

    Thanks For The Help
