    Keyboard Problem


    Hi there, on my wifes laptop the space-bar has just stopped working, i took it of and gave underneath a clean put it on and its still not working , everything else is fine, is there any free software that could diagnose the problem or will i have to get a new keyboard for the laptop, thanks

    Hello pablo!

    There's a little plastic-like thing under every key, that presses down in the area where it's actually "pressed", if that's not too complicated explained.
    Maybe the plastic-like (as I call it) thing is gone? You could have been dropping it somewhere. I suggest you look on your floor

    I do not think this is a failure with your machine, more likely the key itself.

    Take the key off again, and use some dull object to press into the hole where the key is placed if you are able to. Don't press too hard, as you do not want to damage it.

    Does it work? If so, then the key is the issue.
