Hey I was wondering what everyone thinks of this build, and if any improvements can be made without impacting the price point.
    Thanks

Looks good though I think I might choose a different PSU.

I agree, and would also choose a different power supply. I recommend antec and corsair ^_^

I agree with the PSU decision, and recommend Corsair. I have an 850W (not saying you need to go that high) and it is very nice.

Is this for a gaming rig? Have you looked into the i7 2600k? I have it and it works wonders...

The 5850 uses a maximum of 170 watts at full load. Your entire system might use 300 watts under a full load. Draw your own conclusions.

Here is a review of the 600 watt version of your chosen PSU. It gets a pretty good rating:

    Coolermaster Silent Pro M600 Review

The Arctic Cooling heatsink is pretty good, but if I was going to overclock I would probably get the Coolermaster Hyper 212 in the same price range. If I was not going to overclock, I would just use the stock Intel cooler unless you have an aversion to its high pitched whine under load. Most people aren't bothered by it.

Is there any problems with using the current psu in the build, is it a case of giving me room to play with or is it too much power thanks

There isn't really "too much power" though your bill might go up if it's an inefficient unit. Too little power is the concern. The rating is maximum, not how much power it always will put out.

Well I bought a similar combo from Cooler Master with no problems since August 2010.

COOLER MASTER HAF 932 RC-932-KKN1-GP Black
COOLER MASTER Silent Pro RS850-AMBAJ3-US 850W Modular

It appears that it is same series as mine but the 700W version.
The only reason I went with a 850W over a 700W was that was the best deal.
I would have had plenty of power either way.

I like mine. That is all I can tell you.
