Possible to use wirless (but wired) 360 controller in 7

Has anyone had any sucess using a 360 wireless controller (plugged into the USB cable) in windows 7? When I do this it sees it as an unsupported device and I can not seem to find any good working drivers.

Does anyone here have any ideas or drivers form Windows 7 RTM?

I think it is supported and works fine. I would hope so since having the XBOX 360 controller work on a PC is one of the requirements for "Games for Windows"

Even my 7 year old logitech controller works plug and play. The drivers are pretty generic and have been around since XP.

Have you tried using the drivers from the Microsoft website? I needed to install them, then reboot, and the device was detected perfectly. On 64 bits Windows 7 Home premium even.

Here's a screengrab to show it's working: Grabout ? grab and share your screen shots fast & easy!

And here's the driver page over at Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/windows7/support.mspx

    Hope this helps.

Have you actually got the wireless "receiver"? There was a post last week about the same issue, which turned out that they hadn't got a receiver.
