    Ear Force X31 on PC

So I wanted to buy a DSS (Dolby Surround Sound) for my headset, because the extra equipment for it to work on PC from my location was way to expensive for just enabling it to work. But I was thinking about the Xbox LIVE chat and game features of the headset. The headset has controls for the game audio stream, and another control for the Xbox LIVE chat stream, would it work if I got it on PC? Or would I be better off buying a PC gaming headset?

Yes x31's will work on your pc you will have to plug the usb receiver into your computer and then buy a separate stereo cable such as this to run from the receiver to your computer

    That's not what I'm asking...
I asked if the features of the separate chat and game volume control would still work on applications.

Can I use the X31 with a PlayStation 3 or PC?
You can use the X31 to hear the game audio, just as you would on the XBOX 360.The chat feature will work on the PS3 and PC with our PS3/PC Chat Adapter Cable + Amigo II bundle for only $29.95.

Does that answer your question it came right of the website.

Like I said, from my location, I could only buy all the stuff that already comes with the DSS and it came with a price not too far off the DSS. I looked everywhere to buy these accessories from the UK but can't find them separately.

Sorry for getting confused a little bit, but is it the turtle beaches and the accessories needed for them not accessible? What is your price budget for a headset?

The headset I will buy is a Mionix Keid 20 and it's £44 from Amazon.
The 7.1 DSS Processor is £57 from ebay.
Guessing from my general knowledge I don't think this chat volume controller will work, and then hearing people will become harder. Then again, it will be the same either way. I use TeamSpeak for chating while gaming, and that has a plugin to dim the game volume as people talk.

I don't know what to chose, my headset or this?

I will take a look at that headset although I have never heard of it, if you would like a turtle headset how about you look at this one Turtle Beach Ear Force DX11 Headset Bundle with 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound (Xbox 360): Amazon.co.uk: PC & Video Games

It would seem easier to use on the PC because It has the regular X11's hook ups without the wireless receiver because the wireless receiver for the X31's cause wifi interference so if you are using wifi for your pc your crap out of luck.

Sorry, I already have a Turtle Beach X31 what I'm trying to say is, should I rely on it for quality, ergonomics ect...
But if you say wifi isn't good for PC I guess I should buy this PC gaming headset?

Ah alright I have this clear now you already have the x31's,

Well I own two pairs one X11's and x31's that I use, what I am saying about the wireless receiver is that if you have it connected to your computer, and your source for connection to the internet is wireless, you won't be able to use the internet or play online games because the wireless receiver that the X31's has its infrared signal messes with the wireless frequency in the area that your wireless card in your computer is trying to pick up making it impossible for a proper connection.
