i feel it was a splurge buy, what do you think

okay, i always look for good deals like the next person, and i have never been faulter by a newegg open box policy. i was searching for a monitor all day cause i felt my dual 19's just werent enough and i was lucky enough to come across this beauty with a 30 day warranty, so if it doesnt work out, it doesnt work out.

    Newegg.com - ASUS VE258Q Black 25" 2ms HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Display Port & Speakers 250 cd/m2 50,000,000:1 ASCR

at an open box discount of -99.00 off. went down as soon as i ordered.

got the only open they had possibly, must have not been up to long considering its a 25 inch for 180.

does anyone own this screen? ive seen nothing but positive reviews

but i paid 207 with tax and free shipping/rush processing

what do you think? if you have it, what do you think?

Actually seems like a decent buy to me

Seems a lot of people here are purist with their monitors would probably consider this a cheap o thing.
I have the 24" model though and it's a good solid monitor.
Picture is nearly as good as my top of the line tv.

Yeah, the speakers are going to suck though I don't know anyone outside of an office that actually uses monitor speakers. They are for space saving, not for sound quality.

I've just disabled the hdmi audio from my graphics card.
It's best to only have one playback device active anyhow.

I just use a DVI connection. I have an Asus 246H and it works great for me.

with 1080p monitors it actually makes a little difference to verify the dvi cable you are using is in fact a true dual link dvi.
As many many of the inferior single link cables are floating around out there.
Since DVI has fallen out of popularity though you can find the cables anywhere... I've seen good dual link ones in the dollar store.

(see the chart there for identifying your cable type you just have to count pins really)

i have it hooked up to DVI right now and let me tell you, not one dead pixel, not one ding, all original packaging, the box was a little dingged up, but this thing is incredible. the colors are so vibrant
