HDD is Missing

It's showing up with acronis as a dynamic disk, can i use this to recover the data on the hdd or do i have to reformat?

From acronis is the disk "active"?

No i dont think it's active as my other hdd in the flag section seems to say pri,act, so i guess thats active but it does not say anything for the tera hdd

No it looks like all I can do is create,copy or recover partitions

The only guaranteed way you can recover the data is if you have the partner disk(s) from the dynamic array. There is no file table on the disk you have.

In NT5, there was a possible solution, contained solely within the OS (if you were willing to lose the data), but I do not find any the necessary reg keys in 7. See MS System or Boot Disk Listed as Dynamic Unreadable in Disk Management

If there is data you want to recover, the solution is one path. If you just want to make the disk usable, there is another path. Let us know which condition applies. Certainly one our esteemed colleagues can take the ball from here. I am going to sleep now. If you don't have a solution by the time I get back, we can proceed.
