Steven Sinofsky, the Big Dad of Windows 7 described here the precise purpose and meaning of this notification.

As we know, the battery is an irreversibly dying thing, as we all are, so this notification is not going away as we all are not gonna get any younger. So, if you don't want to see it, just hide it.

    Technoankur,

The battery is still kicking. Every few days, run siw again and watch out for signs of an on-coming demise.

Will a wake be in order at that time? That's your call.

Seriously, contact acer and see if this is part of a pattern with this particular model. Some manufacturers have offered rebates and replacements where they have been shown to have had an inadequate design.

Otherwise, start shopping eBay, NewEgg, Fry's for a replacement so that you will be prepared.

Oh yes, I have not idea how long the battery will last, although I'm sure that the woods around the forum are full of "experts" who will come to your rescue.

there will be a bright star in the sky and 3 wise men will visit you.

Seriously, your reserve will start falling off rapidly.

And yes, you can continue to use it.

by keeping the brightness down and using PowerSaver mode, then you make the dying days of your battery easier.
