    No they are not, but the few that will fit some 1156 boards. I only know because I have an 1156 board and wanted to see the best chip I could put in it. I decided it wasn't worth the effort.
    The i7-8xx 1156 chips are not really i7 chips. They are basically i5 chips with hyper-threading enabled.
