One of the three methods you linked to will probably be used but which one for your board?

Yes. It will reset the BIOS version currently installed. It will not revert to some old version - it can't, the old version was erased and overwritten by the new version.

And NO - you will not need to do anything different to the OS in a normal reset. The OS is usually unaffected.

However, in your particular case, because you may be correcting a more global BIOS issue - you may get different results - But I think that any fix on the OS end that is based on a possibly faulty BIOS checksum is going to cause you problems.

And I wonder if the SFC issue has to do with Windows Authentication? If the OS thinks it is installed on a whole new system and all of that.
i was able to run sfc /verifyonly and it told me i had errors i can post the cbs log if you want?

im running a new scan and going to follow brinks instructions to How to See and Read Only the "SFC" Scan Results from the CBS.LOG
