    More details on AMD Bulldozer

Summary: Starting this month, AMD will finally have a chip designed to go head-to-head with the fastest Core i5 and Core i7 Sandy Bridge processors. AMD has been working on Bulldozer for six years and it has a lot riding on the new chip design.

I read the article, sounds interesting. I'm hoping AMD pulls it off. There really isn't much real news on Bulldozer, I would have thought there would be a lot of testing going on at this point with engineering samples.

Yeah, you are right. They are keeping the details close to their west. But if it comes out in the next weeks, we will see more.

In my case, I've been holding firm on my Q9550 and not upgrading to the Core i3/i5/i7 line, or the Sandy Bridge line. So, I guess if AMD puts out the Bulldozer and it only competes with the Core i7's...which can be had around $300 too...I guess I wouldn't find this product all that interesting. We need to outperform Intel...not come to the table with an equivalent chip for about the equivalent cost.

I agree tottaly PParks but also AMD is geared toward Budget and decent speed performance

AMD actually has been better this time around then years before with heating and driver issue's but looks like they will be around doing big things besides doesn't intel depend on them for the 64 bit structure on intel chips

Also AMD might be scrappin that since everything is the FX series again Graphic wise and core wise and the break down channels for the cores will be a big draw if it is succesful
