Britjoe, that looks good. Especially the 4K R/W which the OS uses a lot. Compare that to my Vertex2 which is a tad better at the high end but slower at the important 4k size.

It's an SSD, It's not the $50 that concerns me.

PCIe SSD

I will be getting the replacement OCZ Revodrive PCIe SSD this week. It turns out that the other one was tested and confirmed to be defective. After checking I did not find the failure to be common. I did find out that is not recommended to defrag an SSD. I did not check in the forum to see if that had been mentioned. Now to decide if I wish to do a fresh install or recover from the saved OS before the SSD died? I did do a complete back up before it died.

If it was me I would try the backup first, assuming you had spent any significant time at all getting things "just right". I'd bail and do a clean install at the first sign of trouble, though.

Sorry to hear about your PCIe SSD drive. Let's hope the replacement is problem free.

As far as defragging SSD's, I thought it was posted somewhere in this thread to not defrag SSD drive. I also mentioned it myself as well as stating that Windows 7 actually automatically turned defrag off for SSD drives.... at least the ones connected to SATA ports (don't know about the PCIe ones?). At any rate, yeah, don't defrag SSD drives

Good luck on the replacement.

BTW thanks for keeping us informed on the PCIe ones.

Thanks Sygnus21. I was not sure if it was mentioned about the defrag. Thanks!

The replacement gets here by UPS tomorrow. I will try the back up first.
The specs say this thing reads at 740 MB/S and writes at 720 MB/S. At least the registry and bios are both set at AHCI. I know it is a pretty penny and later it will drop in price but I just had to get it NOW and test it!
