    I wonder how much sense it makes to run SSDs in Raid if they are mainly used for the OS. The acccess times will not change thus the OS will hardly benefit from it. All the fancy data transfer times are meaningless for the OS since it does not R/W a lot of data - and that mostly in 4K blocks.

    I also run FF, Steam, other games, and select apps from RAID so it makes sense to me

    Cheers. While I didn't have 'a lot' of trouble with my Vertex2, I've had none at all with both the C300 in my lappie and the M4.

    Doesn't RAID disable the TRIM and other clean up functions?

    Yes, it always has disabled trim. I have seen some here say that you can get trim with raid now, but have never seen it shown by anyone.
