Didn't realize your could swap out Crucial SSD drivers for Intel drivers...is that what your saying Airbot? Is this safe and no reformatting of drive required just a update driver?

Rockpaper,
Your Crucial score is off the hook !

I didn't say that anywhere.

I was referring to the ones with Intel chipsets.

Wow! As the thread starter I have really enjoyed going through the pages and pages of great data. It opens up a whole computing world to get your first SSD.

I just ordered a Patriot Inferno 120GB SSD to replace mine. It has the new SandForce controller and it should be a good performer. I don't see any numbers here yet on the Inferno. If anyone has run some benches, I would love to see them.

I will post mine when I get it and have it formatted, blank, and connected to my system. Have a good one!

I put in my Intel X25-M and it was love at first sight but ,being a follower of (if it's not broke, keep fixing it til it is) I played with it too far. I wiped it and clean installed again, but changed to ACHI in my bios. The second and third benches are after the ACHI.
