also, what software or application should i use to benchmark my drive?

    Thank you in advance

I have determined that my ozc agility 2 is on firmware 1.27. Ran the as ssd benchmark program listed in this post at the top and got what i feel are some real low numbers. When using the pc and gaming it feels failry quick, much quicker than with my previous hdd which i also believe has failed as of last night.

here is the screenshot from as ssd

and the screenshot from hd tune (write speed only due to trial version limitation)

i feel i may have something configured incorrectly. I also went into the bios to verify the achi was enabled as i thought it was and i do not have an option to set it.
    i am using GIGABYTE GA-M61P-S3 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 / nForce 430 ATX AMD Motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Windsor 2.4GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor, 8G G.Skill gaming ram ( 2G x 4 chips) and my bios if i wrote it down correctly is M61P-S3 F5 v6.00P6

anyone have any tips or ideas???

It would be nice if everyone stuck to one set of bench test software :) :) ... I have the Kingston SSDNOW 64gb drive and after setting everything up correctly ACHI ect ,ect I just tested it and for a low cost drive it works well.

ATTO I get 122/225 Not bad for a budget drive at all..

I noticed that HD Tune does funny things with the OCZ tests. I had a similarly dismal picture from my brand new Vertex 2 - but when I ran Atto, I got great numbers. And the SSD runs great anyhow.I suggest you run Atto and compare. I use HD Tune only for HDDs and sticks from now on.

If it helps, here is the link to download your motherboard manual. I am not familar with Gigabyte MBs but in mine I have to enable raid then go to on chip devices, under that sub menu it lists raid mode, if you click that it will enable you to select ahci. This enables the ahci drivers for all sata controllers even if you do not use raid.

I will check the sub menus in the bios when i get home again and see if i overlooked something. I will also take your tip on trying the ATTO benchmark and will post the results for benchmark and bios options once i get home from work this evening and look at them.

    Thank you
