Saw that after my "slow keyboard" finished.
The 9128 is a good deal. It supports TRIM too. Now we need to find out if the OP has his drive plugged into the right ports. His test indicated the MS driver being used.
This sub-thread really should have its own. Sorry for stringing it out here.
I am too old to figure out what generation I am. I am sure Mike knows!
Well let's put it this way.........I am sure Mike will respond with some words of wit.
carwiz: the link to the IRST drivers are the same as i first got and it was this one i tried out.
I have the Marvell 9128 on my motherboard P6X58D-E and my read speed peaks at about 417-419mb/s and my SSD is plugged into this port.
I have added my benchpic for reference. Would i benefit from running my Corsair Force GT 120Gb on the Intel SATA2 port using IRST driver?
I'm not carwiz, and I'm sure he will answer later. But, for your own piece of mind, try it and see how fast it runs and you will be able to see. But, I would like to point something out to you. On that test you just showed, 95% of the numbers do not make any difference to you when using it for an OS drive. As an OS drive the big thing is response times. ie. how long from the time you push the internet explorer shortcut until it actually opens. That is what counts. The rest of the numbers and the numbers all SSDs quote really mean nothing unless you are going to be transfering 10GB files around all day. An OS drive depends 95% of the time with 4kb reads and response times. So, just don't fall into the trap of comparing benchmarks.
