Perhaps the score is simply the normal operation of your SSD. I might suggest you go to a place like Newegg and read the User feedback of your SSD to determine if this is normal, taking into consideration chipset differences.

What iaStor driver are you using?
Intel® Rapid Storage Technology version 10.6.0.1022

Same offset as on mine, clean install and Win7 set it.

Does Kingston have a monitoring app?
Should find a way to check the garbage collection.

My results for a Patriot Pyro 60 GB SATA III SSD, $109.xx purchase price at newegg.

1, IDE bypassing the Windows cache = less than 400 MBS.

2, AHCI still bypassing the Windows cache over 550 MBS.

3, AHCI using Windows cache > 2.3 TBS.

Please note that this is on a single drive attached to a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 motherboard port.

Hopefully this shows the value of using AHCI as well as the value added by Windows' cache.

    Newly installed Crucial M4 256GB:

ETA: I upgraded from an Intel X-25M 80GB to the Crucial. I created an image of the Intel and then transferred it to the Crucial. Thanks to this forum, I discovered I was not "aligned." I bought Paragon and ran it and now all is again well in the Universe.

That is a schoolbook example of what the alignment does for you. In the past, some people gave me an argument when I told them that misalignment is the cause of their performance problem. In the future I will use your example (with your permission), to make my case.

Feel free to use the chart as needed.

As another edit, I actually had to run Paragon twice. For some reason, the first run only aligned the smaller (200MB) partition even though I had selected both Drive 0 partitions for alignment. I ran Paragon again to actually align the Drive 0 partition that is used for data. Info provided for newbies like me who need to be hit between the eyes with directions/data.
