I discovered something interesting. I was shrinking my C: on the M4 to define a small 2GB test partition (with Disk Management). And the shrinking and the new 2GB partition definition took quite a bit longer than when I do the same operation on a spinner. That was rather unexpected. I wonder why.

Thank you Wolfgang. If the 4.0 on the Y-axis is 4K, it looks like you are better?

But only a bit for the write speed whilst my reads are a lot slower. That is still plenty fast, but I wonder why there is a difference. I also still have the Atto nums from when I was still on FW 02. And those are even lower. So the 0309 update did speed things up.

I don't know if you have been keeping up on the xtremeforums testing.

The first m4 in the test quit at about 800TB of writes on the 64GB version.

I don't think wearing yours out will be a problem.

    Ahh, I see that now.

I'm not sure if it affects either one of you, but they make 2 versions of the M4. one is 415read and 95 write, the other is 500 read and 95 write.

Same drive. Typo on the 415.

Look here both 500. Look at model numbers.> SSD upgrades from Crucial.com

Difference in price is one has data tranfer cable. One is just the SSD.

This one has the mount kit but no data cable.

Plus the price has dropped $18 or so since I got mine. I think all the M4s with SSD2 in the part number are identical within each size.

Mike, if it is a typo, they did it on the 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Of course, I can't see why they would have built a slightly slower model for the same money as the faster ones.
