    ALiveNF5-eSATA2+ support Phenom II 940?

Hi, currently using an ALiveNF5-eSATA2+ mobo with an amd 6400+ cpu im looking to upgrade over the next couple of months and am happy to stay with amd if my mobo will support the new phenom II 940 cpu.

Does anybody here know if the cpu will work? my mobo currently supports phenom x1 up to 140Watt cpu. Does this mean it will support the new ones or do I need a specific bios update to allow support.

    Thanks,
      My Computer

Unless you have 100% same motherboard as Boomstick777, and I mean 100% down even to board revision, then you;d be better off getting the BIOS from a more known source - in other words, directly from the manufacturer as opposed to a stranger on a forum (no offense intended, Boomstick777 )

None taken lol, I just sent as rock an email and they sent me the bios for my motherboard. Do you have the exact same model? No problem to send it to you just make sure its the correct motherboard.

To use this bios you need to update in dos (not windows) use the installer from as rock website and make bootable floppy with the new bios on and installer etc...

For anybody wanting this bios get it here - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

Please be aware that this bios is ONLY for ALiveNF5-eSATA2+ motherboard and allows
support for phenom II 940 cpu etc.

My phenom II 940 arrives on wednesday so I cant try it until then I am running the new l2.11 bios fine but can't confirm phenom II is working until it arrives, will update when cpu is here.
