Hello ekurtz, welcome to the forum

edit: i had a look at the key tweaker software and couldnt figure out how to change the url. im not shure if this software just changes one key to another ,so you would end up with a different key opening outlook and not gmail. will keep checking.

ok the best i have come up with so far is to open your gmail drag the icon/favicon on the url address bar to your desktop then put it elsewhere perhaps in documents,
then in documents right click the gmail shortcut ,select propetries and in the shortcut key field, click in it ,then select the key you want to use. this will reassign the keys to open your gmail. just tried it for seven forums and it works. although it makes you press ctrl, alt and the key you chose. but is a work around, the same process can be applied to a program.

Win7 adding Alt to shortcut when I try to assign Ctrl+keyboard stroke
Hi there, Normally, it seems like such a simple thing... You right click an executable shortcut on your desktop, go to 'Properties', then assign a shortcut key. I've done it time and time again... but as of recent, when I want to, say, assign Ctrl+F5 to a shortcut, Windows 7 wants to...

How did previous user assign special function to keyboard key?
When I took over a PC used by my predecessor, he had Win 7 (MS keyboard) set up so that the Windows key to the right of the space bar and Alt key will dump "http://www." into any open text field. This saves me a lot of time on a repetitive task with our software. However, when I asked one of our...

Cannot assign Ctrl+Alt+F as a keyboard shortcut
I like to use keyboard shortcuts to start programs running. I assigned Ctrl+Alt+F to open Firefox (pinned to the Start Menu), but it would not work. I can use Ctrl+Shift+F and the shortcut works. Normally, I would assume that Ctrl+Alt+F conflicts with one already in use, but pressing that key...
