Windows 7: CD/DVD Drive error message

Win 7

Tell you the truth I don't know how it happened in the first place?
But I know I tried numerous regedits, numerous suggestions from other forums before I came here just so I wouldn't get the"did you google the problem" lol

Whatever started the problem in the first place uninstalling WMP then reinstalling WMP solved the issue.

"But after checking "Set your default programs" WMP is still not listed but it's listed in "Set Program access & computer defaults?

Also in "Change AutoPlay Settings" I selected WMP but inserting a cd autoplay doesn't work?"

Yes when I insert any type of CD or DVD they don't AutoPlay even though I have WMP set to AutoPlay CD/DVD's so I'm trying to figure that out.

The solution I found in this link should restore WMP to this list:
Restore Missing Windows Media Player to the Set Default Programs List in Windows Vista - The Winhelponline Blog
If you find that the Windows Media Player entry is missing in the Set your Default Programs listing, itís probably because someone removed access to the program in your computer. Here is how you restore it. 1. Click Start, Default Programs
2. Click Set program access and computer defaults
3. Click Custom to expand the section
4. Scroll down to section Choose a default media player
5. Enable the option Enable access to this program for Windows Media Player

6. Click OK.
WMP is not listed?

If Windows Media Player is not listed in the Set program access and computer defaults list, download, unzip and run the enclosed REG file wmp-programs-list.reg. This should restore Windows Media Player to the listing.
Please post back with the results. :)

Thanks, I read that article before as well but no prize.
As you can see in my pic WMP is already enabled.
