Hard Drive Issue - "Reallocated Sectors Count"
Hi.
I'm Harsha.
I have a Sony Vaio laptop (Model - VPCEB26FG)
Recently, it fell off a table, and when I restarted it, it wasn't loading windows and I realized it was a Hard disk crash.
So I gave it for replacement at the authorized service centre, they put in a new Hard drive and returned it to me today.
Now I installed windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, and fedora15.
It says "Hard disk is failing" and says that there are 237 bad sectors under "Reallocated Sectors Count"
Q1. Does this mean this is yet another hard disk failure ? If so, why do you think it happened , I haven't dropped it or anything as such.
Q2. Did the previous drop have some effect on internal circuitry and is that affecting my new Hard drive too ? What is the cure for such a problem ?
