    connecting PS3 to monitor?

    Hi all,

I have an AOC 936swa LCD monitor and want to try and run my PS3 through it. The input into the monitor is via D-Sub and USB. I made the schoolboy error of thinking it was a DVI and buying an HDMI to DVI cable...face-to-palm moment there!

Is there an HDMI to D-Sub cable? I can't imagine the USB will be able to carry it. The output from from the PS3 is bog standard.

any thoughts or help welocme as ever!

HDMI to VGA, there are cables and adapters out there, so yes it can work.
    What about sound?

Cheers for the reply, I'll try and nab an HDMI to VGA cable. As far as sound goes there is a single 'hole' which I assume is a jack receiver. I got a nifty adapter which should allow me to take the generic PS output cable (splits into three points) and use that.
