Ahhhhh, the drivers for 7000 series cards basically suck right now. AMD needs to get off their rear end and fix them. You can go to other forums such as Guru3d and read about all the problems.

Did you go into your BIOs and set the following ?

    Always Enable PEG [Enabled]

    PowerXpress Setting [Muxed Fixed Scheme]

Ah Popeye knows what's up, nevermind.

I don't know whether this will help or not, but...

I have an AS8951 with switchable graphics (Intel onboard, and a 2GB GeForce GT555M).

It will use the Intel chip by default, or when running on the battery.

But you can select which to use by default in the Nvidia Control Panel.

The choices are: integrated, GeForce, or auto-select.

You can also select which GPU to use in a particular program by right-clicking its icon and
selecting ' Run with Graphics Processor '. The default GPU is indicated, and the option to
set the default is also here.

There is no need to go anywhere near the BIOS.

Strange that the Radeon-equipped machines don't have a similar setup?

Apologies if this dooesn't help anyone, just an idea.

Thanks but Nvidia machines are a totally different beast. Your ability to switch is still a function of the Bios and software. The problem is, the 7750G stock Bios sucks.
The software is similar to what you describe but with Acer stock Bios it is hampered. Many times it does not use the better GPU even when selected by software.
It is hard to describe unless you have experienced it.

All good, Popeye, I haven't played with the 7750, so I wasn't sure.

Just hoped I may have been able to help.

Do hope you get it sorted...

No worry, thanks for caring. I'm good with the modded Bios. It allows me to select which card as primary use all the time regardless of program usage. In other words, either the integrated Intel graphics is the only card or the AMD card is the only one seen by Windows. Something the Acer OEM Bios does not provide. It only allows selection of a program association to which card used and hope it kicks in. Can not choose a default graphics option to use all the time.
The modded Bios enables this to where it shows up in the AMD software to choose default graphics.
    Again, difficult to explain.
