Do the leshcat drivers fix the manual switching problem alone or must the modded BIOS also be installed?

I have done neither yet as I was able to successfully play D3 beta just by selecting "High Performance" with the default Acer BIOS 1.20 and default CCC drivers. But of course I am still curious.

No, you'll need the custom BIOS to switch.

I've been on both, and love it. Switch the high perf when gaming, and Intel when I'm watching shows or just browsing.

I'm not familiar with drivers but I would assume it's not incredibly difficult to switch back to the authentic drivers at a later time if necessary?

I'll do a little bit of reading on Leshcat site before I decide.

I assume the BIOS is also an easy reversal if necessary.

Yup, it's all fairly simple to do.

Hi everyone this is my first post.
Well I installed the moded bios and everything went great, now im using my the radeon HD 7670m as primary graphics card, but when I go to the switchable graphics option it just wont let me switch to the intel one for power saving.
Is this normal? do I have to switch from bios for this?
I have the Acer Aspire 7750G-9810, I dont want any overheating and stuff for using the graphics card all the time.
If anything I can install the bios provided on the acer website right? (kinda new in this)

You do have CCC installed right? All you'd have to do is just Right Click Configurable Graphics Properties and just click on the Power Saver..

Or go into CCC, click on POWER-> Switchable Graphics and change it there.

Yes, I have CCC installed, it shows as high perfomance all the time and when I want to choose the intel graphics it just wont let me, I clock the button but nothing changes.

    This window right?

Just click on Power Saver, you gotta wait about a few seconds so it'll switch back and such.

If not, try installing Bios 1.20 from Acer, then reinstalling the new Mod. Bios. Make sure you select the right on..we have the same laptops, and I have no issues with it.

Also, you did change settings in BIOS right? After it boot, you were supposed to go into BIOS and make some manual edits.

Yes I do have the CCC and did the manual edits on the bios, but on that screen when I see the 2 buttons to chose power saving or high performance, when I click either one of those nothing happens, it just stays on high performance all the time, and I dont have the option for automatic power saving on battery like on your SS.
