I am on my way to buy a US Robotics USB external fax modem. This should settle out my problem. Thanks for all the help and info. I will let you know how this item works out.

Hello Again,
Just bought a US Robotics USB plug and play fax modem. Works like a charm . Install their drivers and then set it up in Win 7 .

Yes I did and all is working fine. I wondered if I had to leave any program open to receive faxes at night?? and yes , I realize I have to leave the computer on

Im not sure, but there's an easy way to test that... call the PC from another phone and see if the fax answers without the app open.
