It looks to be a good monitor and a good deal. But looks like the LG does not have a PC VGA input. So you need to connect your PC to LG through a HDMI cable.

Will HDMI port work in BIOS mode?

Means can you see the boot screen in Text mode while selecting the boot options for Safe Mode etc. I have not verified this till now.

I will check this on my laptop connected to Sony Wega 32" through HDMI port today.

The monitor has a Coax input on the back for the TV, so it will operated just like a TV when set to the the Tuner.
I am not sure why the input list on Frys mentions SCART since SCART is a European connector, it may be a typo.
Here is the back panel of the US model,
as well as a link to Newegg so you can see the model,

It is kinda pricey if you aren't looking for a TV since a 27" computer monitor can be bought for $50 more (just a little more for you since you live in CA and pay tax),

My brother bought this 27" last week and it is a very nice monitor.

I have no issues with Hdmi so im good on that ,I already have My vizio hooked up that way and on post if i turn on both monitors the hdmi takes over before the vga meaning the vizio will be the main screen and my 22 inch secondary

27 a good size as well , you say for about 50 more so ill look into that I noticed the brand PLANAR never heard of it but i trust your judgment

Those LG monitors are super nice and the tv tunner eliminates alot, cause i can use a spliter and dont have to watch tv with people swappin channels every 5 mins

Also I saw a nice viewsonic at the bottom i have used there monitors before my dad still uses my 8 year old 17 inch ultra bright monitor
